Additional Workforce Funding Opportunities
Incumbent Worker Training Program
The program is intended to offset a portion, via reimbursement, of the businesses’ costs to train and upgrade the skills of its incumbent workers. Additionally, the program will provide reimbursement to eligible businesses for specific training costs accrued during the course of training. Partner with St. Cloud State University to build a training program that taps into the resources of the Incumbent Worker program.

Job Training Incentive Program
This program provides grants to new or expanding businesses located in Greater Minnesota for the purposes of training workers as quickly and efficiently as possible. Grants of up to $200,000 are awarded to eligible businesses to provide training for new jobs. Employers submit and an application to request funding.
Automation Training Incentive Program
This program provides grants to small businesses for the purpose of training existing workers on new automation technology. Grants of up to $35,000 are available to small businesses in the manufacturing or skilled production industry for the express purpose of training incumbent workers as quickly and effectively as possible on new automation technology. The program is available to existing Minnesota Businesses located outside of the seven county metropolitan area.

Dual Pipeline Training Grants
Dual-training programs provide structured on-the-job training and related instruction so employees can develop the necessary occupational competencies to succeed in their chosen career. Employers can use Dual Training Grants to train employees in an occupation for which a competency standard has been identified in one of the seven Minnesota Dual-Training Pipeline industries: Advanced manufacturing, Agriculture, Child care, Health care services, Information technology, Legal cannabis industry, Transportation.
