What is PACE?
PACE is Professional and Continuing Education, offered by St. Cloud State University. While associated with SCSU, PACE is offered “as needed,” with no application, no enrollment, and no commitment to more than the certificate or course you sign up for. Some of the courses and classes are offered online, and some are in-person at the SCSU Welcome Center. Learn more about what you can expect from PACE below, or contact us directly with any specific questions you may have.
No, PACE allows you to simply sign up for the course or certification you want to complete. For grants, please see Training Grants under the Teams section.
PACE requires no enrollment within St. Cloud State University. Though if you already are enrolled either at SCSU or another college, that’s okay too!
Many of the PACE courses and certification classes are conducted virtually, but not all of them. Be sure to look closely at the course/class description on where the training will take place. Oftentimes your course will meet at PACE headquarters—the Welcome Center at SCSU.
Certificates are something you earn that shows you are capable of completing a certain skill. Courses allow you the ability to state you’ve been trained in a particular area of expertise. Courses and certificates are generally for those who have already entered the workforce, but not always. They are meant to supplement your current skill set. Degrees are not offered by PACE (those are through St. Cloud State University).
Fees will typically be refunded, less a $25 service fee. If you do not cancel and do not attend your course, no refund will be available to you.
